Carol Rava has spent more than 25 years in communications, strategy and policy - mostly in the education sector. She has also led numerous product development efforts for different tech solutions in the education space. Carol is currently the president of College101 a nonprofit focused on creating pathways for new colleges in the US. Prior to this role, Carol had two stints at Get Schooled, a nonprofit she co-founded, offering digital college and career counseling for low-income students. In between the times at Get Schooled, Carol led product development for an education tech startup and ran a statewide (WA) technology association. Prior to founding Get Schooled, Carol was an executive with Seattle Public Schools leading a system-wide performance management effort. Earlier in her career, she had a variety of leadership roles in advocacy, communications and program for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's advocacy and education teams over eight years. Carol has a Master's in Education Policy from Stanford and a Bachelor's in History and Religion from Harvard. She is an avid exerciser, reader and cook, and a mom to three (two of whom are consumers of the status quo higher education system).
