Debashis Sahoo received his MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, and BTech in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT-Kharagpur. He is currently working as an assistant professor in the division of Genome Information Sciences within the Department of Pediatrics at University of California, San Diego, CA USA (UCSD). He also holds an affiliated faculty position in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and in the Bioinformatics and Systems Biology graduate program at UCSD. He has several publications in the area of computational biology and formal verification. He finished his doctoral work under the NCI-funded Integrative Cancer Biology Program at Stanford with his advisor Prof. David Dill and co-advisor Prof. Sylvia Plevritis. His current research interests include the analysis of high throughput biological datasets, systems biology, and formal verification of hardware design. He has published over 50 manuscripts on his research in the area of computational biology and formal verification, and he is a co-inventor on five issued patents.We are working on a solution to the women’s safety issue. This work is dedicated to our one year old daughter.
